Reservations
Make a calendar export understandable outside the booking system
A customer may add a reservation to a calendar and never reopen the confirmation page. The exported event needs enough context to remain useful, while avoiding information that should not travel into a broadly shared calendar.
Choose the essential fields
A Costa Rica service event might need the service name, local appointment time, confirmed meeting point and a safe contact reference. Sensitive notes and identity information rarely belong in the event description by default.
Handle changes deliberately
Decide what happens after a date or location changes. Is a new export merely a separate file, or does the integration update an existing event? Customers should not be left with two apparently confirmed appointments because the replacement process was unclear.
Test another calendar
Use fictional details and import the event into a representative customer calendar. Check time, date, accented text and the meeting information on a phone. Include a changed appointment and inspect how the old entry is handled.
The iCalendar specification defines a common calendar-data format, but individual applications and integration methods still need testing. Bring the intended customer journey to a reservation-system project so the export is treated as part of the service rather than an unchecked download link.
